Project Case Study

Premier Inn self-check-in kiosk installation and commissioning

2009-Present Day

Summary

Aspect became involved with the installation of self service check-in kiosks for Premier Inn as far back at 2009. A solution designed and implemented initially by Shere, a small Guildford based firm, has since continued to grow with Wordline Digital Self Service at the reins. While the kiosk itself has developed beyond recognition from the early days, the output remains as high as ever. Throughout the past 12 years we have installed kiosks in new or refurbished Premier Inn hotels all over the UK. From Plymouth to Belfast, to Inverness, Aspect help deliver, install and commission wherever the destination may be.

Hotel Reception for the Digital Age

With the idea of transforming the traditional notion of the hotel reception, Premier Inn committed to installing customer self check-in kiosks into a host of their hotels. These machines were designed to assist the guest upon arrival by retrieving the booking reference code, offering additional options for their stay (breakfast, wi-fi etc), print out the paper receipt, and of course, provide the guests room key card. It wasn’t so much doing away with the need for a receptionist, rather, assisting both the staff and customers to achieve a more speedy check in service. A particular need for this was at one of the busiest hotels;, London Kings Cross.
